Permablitz History

Vana’s Blitz Report

Vanas Blitz 28July 2012Held: Saturday 28th July 10 am – 4pm

The Quick Report - more details to come!

Pat Uber: "Even with the constant rain today's Blitz for Vana was a great success!
The food was fantastic thanks to Vana and her wonderful support team, thank you all so much!
Approx 20 people braved the elements, worked hard, swapped stories, shared in the donated strawberry plants, garlic, potatoes, home baked cakes, biscuits, slices and cakes, ended up covered in mud and were dripping wet and went home happy with all that was achieved.
Young Pat kept the chiminea thingy stoked with a constant supply of wood and was a great help so thanks to him we got to dry off and warm up from time to time.
Thank you so much to all for all your help, I know Vana is very happy and blown away with the end result and we were very happy she was so organised and how smoothly her event went."

National Permaculture Day Blitz

Report - Althea, 6th May 2012: A great permablitz today - thanks to everyone who came, shared, helped and had fun. A rough count suggests more than 50 people over the day!

From Paul Ryle: it was a great day for Royal Park and the local community - we now have a community fruit and nut orchard and community herb garden and footpaths between the community garden beds. Thank you all for your hard work.

Mick's Permabiltz

Good turnout on the day, great weather, excellent lunch. We had one new participant Marie who worked hard all day weeding and was very impressed with the permablitz process. Her idea was to try and help some of the elderly aroungd Ballarat to be able to stay on there larger properties in there own neighbourhood with help from guys like us . I learned some good information that will help me with pruning my fruit trees next year to produce a better yeild.

"Steve Burns this album is the swale building work - the photos aren't in the right order (doh!) but you get the idea... BIG thanks to the hard workers on Sunday... note large line of people going off to lunch and much smaller line at the end of the day... those there at the end get special pats on the back!
